A little weekend DIY.... Bathroom Cabinet Style!

So we have this cabinet in our bathroom.... its white, its big, its kinda ugly... but its built into the wall and it is big enough to hold all my junk. Yep I said it, my junk.. my hair products, body lotions I've collected through the years, make up I'm not really using...that sort of thing. You know stuff I need! But it does keep all our towels and washcloths too, so I figure it needs to stay.  But something had to be done.

So what did I do?? I headed out and bought some pretty yellow paint.   I then came home and (with the help of my wonderful hubby) took all the doors off and sanded everything really really well.  Then I painted everything yellow!! After letting everything dry overnight we added the antique glaze that we also used on our kitchen pantry door here.  Then let everything dry, put the cabinets back on and whalah! A new cabinet for our bathroom!!

Here's a before and after picture for ya!  Sorry I dont have pictures of the process, I took photos the entire time and my crazy self deleted them!! UGH!!! Next DIY project will have photos FOR SURE!!!

I want to add somthing to the side.. not sure yet though.  Maybe some photo frames, or maybe "His" and "Hers" signs... I'll keep you posted on that one!
I have a HUGE list of projects that I am working on... including the remodel of this bathroom and getting rid of this UGLY green tile!! Stay tuneds for more DIY projects from me and the hubs!! =)

Until then.....

Favorites Friday

Its time for another edition of Favorites Friday!!!! I love showing you guys new things that I have found lately that I am just inlove with =)

Favorite New Use for a Kitchen Gadget
Okay, I dont know about you, but I HATE shredding chicken.  I hate the time it takes and how hard it is to do it my fork and by hand.  I used to avoid recipes that called for shredded chicken like the plague.  That is until I saw this idea on Pinterest.  Did you know that you can use your KitchenAid mixer to shred chicken?????  Crazy right! All you do is put your fully cooked chicken into your mixer, use the cookie dough attachment, turn it on and watch the magic happen!!

Favorite Etsy Shop
I found this Etsy shop when I was looking for a birthday gift for my cousins little boy.  She has some GREAT gifts and I just want to buy one of everything she has in her shop.  Love Love Love these blocks from Simple Block Sayings.

Favorite Local Vendor
Allison, of Vintage Charm and Restoration, and I grew up in church together.   She is now a wife, mother, and furniture resoration goddess!! Her work is AMAZING!! I cannot wait to have a little one so I can get some custom furniture done for their bedroom.  Check out her blog and look her up on Facebook!

Thats all for today folks!!!! If you have any ideas that you would like to see featured in Favorites Friday email me and let me know!!!

Whew! Life has been busy!!!

I haven't blogged in a while!! Life has been so crazy that I haven't had a minute to stop and catch my breath. So here's a quick update on what has been going on in our world....

Brandon and I went to Disney World the first week of March and had an AMAZING time! I am ready to go back, NOW! If you're friends with me no Facebook, you can see all our pictures.  We are already planning our next family vacation there!

I am still trying to lose weight, but I have been out of the gym since we got back from Disney.  I have started back on my shakes and plan on getting back in the gym ASAP!!!!

We have been doing a lot of home improvements, DIY stuff.  So lots of pictures and tutorials coming soon.  We are now in the process of converting our study/"junk room" into a study/guest room.  I'm really excited about it! But I'm taking my time, because there really isn't a reason it has to be done.  I want to find the perfect bedding and we are also buidling our own headboard! Im really excited about that!!

I've been doing some photography sessions... Its my favorite time of the year for Photos!!!!!!

I have also started a little at home business, so hoping that takes off!!!!

And I guess its common knowledge by now that we are trying to have a little McMurry =)  So far, we are just seeing what happens, so I'll keep you posted!

I'm ready to get back into my blogging... so I'll be updating regularly. Hope everyone is having a great week!!
